The FBR08 has now passed scrutineering, meaning we are allowed to start testing the engine setup, and continue on to the tilt, brake and noise test in the morning

FBR has moved into it’s pit (no. 38) at the Hockenheimring, and is preparing for scrutineering tomorrow. The pits opened at 14.00, and the team moved in shortly after. We share our F1 pit with 5 other teams, including TU Graz from Austria (2 times previous winners) and PetrolHeads Racing from Denmark. It is now a hectic evening to ready the car for scrutineering tomorrow, where the car will be checked for technical safety and conformity to the rules, before being allowed to take the safety tests (brake test, tilt test and noise test). It is extremely hot here, at around 30c – which could mean a tough test for the cars at the dynamic events if it stays like this until the weekend.
The Full Blue Racing team’s visit to Hockenheim has been documented on the Cambridge University Engineering Department (CUED) website.

The business presentation results have been posted and FBR came in at 37th out of 78 teams, 5th out of 8 UK teams.
After a long night and a long day of working hard on the car, it is now completely assembled, setup and ready to scrutineer.
The Full Blue Racing team has been featured in the Cambridge Evening News, recording the new car and our departure for Hockenheim.
Full Blue Racing touched down in Hockenheim on Tuesday morning, following a long drive through the night.
Full Blue Racing is preparing to leave for Hockenheim tomorrow afternoon.
Apologies! The team has been caught up in the fast paced few days of competition and has only just had time to blog…
Everything comes together as the final assembly is underway. Slowly but surely all the parts are coming together to form the finished product. The car will be unveiled on Monday 4th August in the CUED Foyer at midday, so if you’re in Cambridge come in and see us.
The corners are now test fitted to the car and look great! The wishbones, pushrods, track rods and tie rods were all fitted last night, along with the rear uprights. Front uprights were fitted this morning and all four wheels attached, giving us a rolling chassis. Work is now underway on the new plenum, whilst the exhaust is mock-fitted in preparation of it being welded asap.
Today all the welding on the FBR08 chassis was completed.
A leaving date for the FBR team to travel to FSG08 has been set – we will be catching the 8pm ferry from Dover on Monday 3rd August.
