New bodywork renderings for 2012!
November 24, 2011As the primary design stage for the bodywork nears to a close, we can bring you some of the latest Solidworks renderings showing how the car will look for 2012!
The next stages in design are to look at fixings to the chassis, and the final CAD will not be produced before measuring up the completed welded chassis (rather than basing it on the chassis CAD) which we hope to have finished early into the Christmas holiday.
The team will be visiting Formaplex over the Christmas in order to manufacture the bodywork plugs from tooling board, for which we are extremely greatful for the Formaplex sponosrship. Then it’s off to Newbury to lay up the moulds and actual bodywork at David Gould’s again, before they are painted and liveried up. We are all very excited about the progress that the bodywork has shown this year, and the much improved access to the car it will offer- something which caused problems last year.
